1st March 2009 Mt. Biking: cannock chase Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: 40 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) must have missed reccy!!!! On friday this week 7 of us from the fire station had a blast at cannock 'following the Dog' trail, so much so i went back today for two laps and some including the stile crop down hill course.. To start..On Friday about 500m's in and one of the blokes chain broke..good start!! then after the board walk crossing over the puddle of doom, the last guy in our party fell of the single plank section into the stinky black mud, that makes the puddle of doom..well when he emerged like the monster from the black lagoon, he had a perfect 'MUD' goatee, we laughed so hard my sides ached. .he went a bit quite and in a breathless voice said he couldn't breath, we all fell silent, Short lived as the pee taking started soon after, bloody chin and cut lip he joined us for a lap of the Dog, we completed some of the down hills twice, after about three hours play we then went over to the stile crop down hill, and hit the 'Balboa' yes it was rocky and we descended like girls... There's a guy in our group who is a down hill freak with 7k's of downhill bike, and he flew down four foot drop offs, 15 ft jumps etc..impressive stuff, finished wth a couple of pints and a meal in a local pub.. So today took the wife along and see coped with most of the course cutting out the down hills did about 2 ish laps, getting lost once then watched the downhil nutters going huge at stile crop.... top few days.and i don't ache bonus... might even kitesurf one weekend.... top day |
